Socl — pronounced social — lets you create, collect and share stuff you love. From rich visual collages to short animated media, express yourself through posts that take seconds to create, collect and share (on Socl, as well as Facebook, Pinterest, Tumblr, and Twitter).

Socl is brought to you by the fun people at Microsoft Research FUSE Labs. 

So.cl launched in December 2011 and was first available through a partnership to students of the University of Washington, Syracuse University, and New York University. While still experimental, the site opened up to all users on 20 May 2012

Why is Microsoft not even advertising this? Is it not meant to be public or meant to compete with other social sites? Nobody has heard of this site and its been public for years? Not one advertisement or article talking about its plans or growth or anything. Even they say its more like complementary to other popular networks it doesnt mean it cannot evolve and put a little competition.

Lest try to make it a bit more popular and spread the word. You can invite your Facebook/Twitter friends using the option under More options/Elipse button next to your account id.
